We are a sweet group of people who love the Lord, love God's Word, and love our neighbors in the Rochester community. We take hospitality seriously, and we hope that anyone who enters our building knows they are welcome and valued by God and by us. At Park Ridge, fellowship is part of our worship, and we invite you to experience God's hospitality while you're among us.
Our Confession: Jesus is life. This confession centers and animates everything we do as a church.
Our Vision: To become people who heal in holy love, grow as disciples, and are sent in mission.
Our Mission: To know Jesus and make Him known.
Ministry Practices: DWELL describes the shared practices that shape our life as a body of believers — within the church and in the community.
D — Disciple
Growing as followers of Jesus
W — Worship
Receiving grace and re-centering on God through Bible study, preaching, music, and Christian fellowship.
E — Engage
Joining God’s work in our community by sharing our gifts, skills, and resources to serve the church and the world.
L — Love
Living in reconciled, hospitable relationships in the church, our families, with other believers, and the community. We love because God has loved us and commanded us to love our neighbors.
L — Lead
Developing and releasing leaders in the church, in our denomination, and in the community. We hope that as we embody our faith, we will reflect God's best and lead others to a renewed life in Jesus Christ.
Because Jesus is Life:
As a church, we are learning to:
The Park Ridge Free Methodist Church was born under the leadership of Rev. Roy Goodrich. Organized in 1946, the early church met in a rented pony barn at the corner of Ridge Road and Fetzner (current location of The Marriot). Two years later, we became an official church. In 1950, a new church on Ridge Road was built at a cost of $28,000.00 (currently a Chick-fil-A).
With a vision for greater ministry, a 5-acre lot was purchased from the Wegman family. On September 28, 1969, the current facility, located at the corner of Straub Road and Long Pond Road, was dedicated. Since that time, the church has continued to experience healthy spiritual growth as they reach out to the community of Greece and the greater Rochester area.
With numerous denominations, it can be challenging to understand what distinguishes each one from the others. Park Ridge is part of the Free Methodist Church USA. Learn more about who we are, what we believe, and what we are working toward as a movement:
