We are 75% through our chronological reading plan, and next week leads us into the New Testament. This week, we meet Esther, burdened for her people, who face death at the hands of an evil second-in-command under the Persian king. In this story, God is not named, but his hidden hand is at work. Esther's bravery to step up, even at the risk of her life, and use the place, position, and authority given to her for the good of God's people invites us to trust God's work and faithfully use what he has placed in our hands for his purposes.
