In our chronological journey through Scripture, we arrive in Judges this week. During this time, Israel operated under a decentralized system, with each tribe "governing" itself. The people were in a cycle of apostasy, repentance, and God sent a judge to usher in peace. Judges 17:6, along with Matthew 21:1-11, invite us to reflect upon the following:
Where am I still holding onto authority over my own life?
Where am I deciding for myself what is right and good, instead of receiving the life Jesus is leading me into?
When all is said and done, we are invited to receive the truth that there is no king but Jesus.
