New Day Christian Preschool
To assist parents in the nurture of their children by equipping each child with the necessary tools and Christian values which will help him/her succeed through all areas of development; academically, spiritually, socially, emotionally, and physically.
The curriculum is designed to be hands-on and developmentally appropriate. Our monthly newsletter will give a schedule of activities and themes each month for parents to be aware of their child’s activity. Each theme is chosen to encourage children to discover, imagine, and expand their knowledge in the following areas:
Academics: Individual challenges will be provided for each child in a stimulating learning environment with abundant praise and encouragement.
Spiritual: Children will be taught that God is our heavenly Father through praise and prayer. We focus on the Golden Rule with emphasis on respect for self and others.
Social/Emotional: Through interaction with other preschoolers, children will be taught the value of friendship, love, sharing, and self-control. Attention is given to language development by providing varied opportunities for children to express their thoughts and ideas.
Physical Development: Opportunities are provided to enhance motor skills with table and physical activities, both structured and non-structured. We encourage independence by giving children opportunities to do things for themselves.
The preschool year begins September, and ends in May. We follow the Greece School District calendar regarding holidays, vacations, and school closings. A detailed calendar will be sent with your registration confirmation. The weekly session class times for the three year-olds and four/five year-olds are as follows:
A typical day consists of the following activities:
- Free playtime
- Large group lesson
- Arts and crafts
- Story Time
- Physical Activity
Once a week children will be given the opportunity to share or bring something from home. We encourage parents to help their child choose interesting and special items from home. (No weapons or action figures, please.)

Our Head Teacher, Judi Marino has been with us for over a decade. She has lived in Greece all her life, graduating from Greece Olympia High School. She attended night classes at Monroe Community College to enhance her business career at Eastman Kodak Company where she worked for 12 years. Judi left to start a family.
Once her youngest was in school, she worked at Parkland Elementary School for four years where she was in charge of improving reading skill levels for those who needed the services. She left there to work at New Day. “In raising two daughters I was very involved in their schools.” Mrs. Marino was a PTA officer for 15 years, volunteer coordinator for Greece Arcadia Middle School Musicals for nine years as well as a Girl Scout Leader for seven years. She currently resides in Greece with her husband and their two daughters. This is Mrs. Marino’s eighteenth year as Head Teacher at New Day.
Mrs. Karen Ogles is our new Assistant Teacher. She is an experienced teacher, having taught first and second grades at the Greece Central School District. She is also an experienced mom with five children. Mrs. Ogles’ daughter, Amelia, attended New Day four years ago. Her niece and two nephews also attended New Day.
“The class was so organized and the children were polite and never out of control,” Mrs. Ogles says. “That’s because of the teachers. If I could be part of that, I knew I wanted to jump in.” As a Pampered Chef consultant, Mrs. Ogles headed up our fundraiser this year.
These are just some of the testimonials provided by parents, giving you a glimpse of the long-standing history New Day Christian Preschool has in the community for providing a loving, quality preschool experience.
“They do multiple subjects including reading, math, arts and crafts, gym, science, and more. Through these activities, there are meanings behind them. They teach our children how to be good people in this world and to love everybody. There are field trips and many activities during the school year that bring not only the kids, but us parents together, as one family… She was writing her name at 3 years old, first and last. By the end of the year she was just starting to learn how to read. With the 4’s program, they helped her excel in her math skill levels and she is now reading.”
“My girls were eligible for the Pre-K program offered by the Greece Central School District. My older children attended the district Pre-K however I have been so incredibly happy with New Day that I never bothered to look into Pre-K for my twins.”
“New Day Christian Preschool is a wonderful place to be. The students LOVE the school and their teachers. Academics, good citizenship, friendships, and spiritual growth are all taught in a safe, nurturing, and caring environment.”
“My daughter went on to kindergarten through Greece Central School District and her kindergarten teacher was so impressed with the knowledge and abilities she came in with. The teacher is now sending her own child to New Day Christian Preschool.”
