The Sykoras' ministries in the fast growing, post-communist economy of Slovakia will encompass teaching, pastoring, mentoring and counseling. Josef is serving a very active congregation as associate pastor and is also teaching pastors from emerging European FM churches. Many of these leaders need the basics on topics including understanding the Bible, church history and systematic theology. Following the turmoil of wars and communism, many Europeans have experienced brokenness and despair; Lynette sees Christian counseling as an avenue for healing. She is also offering member care to missionaries and European church planters.

  • Josef to find people to whom he can hand over leadership of the youth groups (high school and university ages) he has been leading these past three years
  • Josef to have wisdom and inspiration as he works with teens and university students
  • Josef's as he disciples laypeople at the 300+ member church in Bratislava (Cirkev Bratska)
  • Josef as he has opportunities to teach Bible and theology in FM fellowships in Europe
  • Lynette's ministry in the area of member care to FM missionaries in Europe
  • Josef and Lynette to have opportunities to share their faith in their community
  • Lynette to make progress with the Slovak language
  • Simon to be healthy and grow as he should
  • The safe arrival of their second child, due in June 2009, and adjustments as the family expands
